About

The Artist

Kassie Jackson

I have been retouching photos for 10 years now. For the first few years, I would retouch stock photos just to practice and because I enjoyed it! Then about 5 years ago, I decided to try my hand at photography so I could work on my own images instead of someone else’s.

At first I shot with an old Olympus 35mm film camera that I taught myself to use. There were many times that I paid for film to be developed, only to find that the pictures were blurry or exposed incorrectly. Though this was a hard lesson that cost me a pretty penny, it taught me to take my time with my work. After a year or so of shooting with the Olympus, I decided that a DSLR would be more practical. I switched to a Canon Rebel T1i and have since then invested in a Nikon D5100 (which is amazing). My main influences in my work (both retouching and photography) are Lara Jade, Kyle Thompson, Miss Aniela, and Brooke Shaden.

Now I am a retoucher for the Net-A-Porter Group in Mahwah, NJ. I also continue to do fine art and editorial photography in my free time. For rates and availability, feel free to contact me!
